“Ceramika Artystyczna” is Polish for Ceramic Art and Poland is famous for this product throughout the world. There are many factories that produce “Ceramika Artystyczna” in many shapes, weights, and patterns – there are literally hundreds of patterns to choose from – and they export to countries around the globe.
Blue Rose Pottery currently carries pottery from two Polish factories and we thought it would be helpful to our customers to give some background and elaboration on each of their specific fortes.
Zaklady Ceramiczne Boleslawiec
This is the biggest manufacturer of tableware, stoneware, hand-formed and hand-decorated pottery using the unique punch technique. They are one of the oldest and biggest companies in the Boleslawiec region. Their annual production is approximately two million pieces.
Their product is renowned for the beautiful hand finish, original style, and functionality. Many of their patterns are reminiscent of the centuries old tradition of Polish, Czech, and German pottery and have a great sentimental value – and with inspiration from the past, contemporary ceramics have been creatively refined by designers to the tastes of today – both in patterns and shapes.

Ceramika Artystyczna WIZA
Started in 1963 by Stanislaw Wiza, the factory was rebuilt on the site of two potteries and was initially a very small concern with a few employees and a few small electric kilns. The pottery flourished because of careful attention to design, both in body shapes and patterns. The manu-facturing process was also improved with new kilns, better clays and general attention to detail. They now employ over 120 people and supply pottery to Germany, England, Italy and North America.
Patterns available from Ceramika Artystyczna WIZA:
Classic – Blue Daisy, Green Daisy
Updated Classic – Blue Daisy, Green Daisy, Blue Diamond and Garden Party, Modern-Sunflower
Signature – Green Grapes
